At the address Telekom-Allee between Rheinstraße and Hilpertstraße a new six-floor building complex for approximatively 1,300 employees was completed in November 2014 consisting of four building parts with bridges. The Technologie Zentrum (TZ) Rhein Main in Darmstadt is one of Germany’s most significant business and technology parks. Deutsche Telekom is a big player in this modern office park. The high-quality office building provides innovative and pioneering office environment to the business. The new building complex takes into account Telekom’s philosophy of network living and working.
Deutsche Telekom also formulated clear targets for energy concept. The cascade units have now been awarded certification level LEED Gold. The building envelope supplied by Dobler Metallbau has contributed to this outcome.
- 7,200 m² ribbon windows – approx. 900 with alternating opening casement / fixed glazing
- 3,000 m ² metal façade – the majority of which designed as metal ventilated façades.
- Additional works included mullion-transom façades, door systems, bay window areas with floor-to-ceiling glazing and fire protection façades.
The majority of the building envelope consists of ribbon windows with external sun shading.
The building’s end sides are executed as metal cladding with strip lights. In the northern entrance area and in front of the elevator walls, a mullion-transom façade was installed. In addition, the bridges are fitted with fire protection façades and defined sections of the regular façade are equipped with bay windows with floor-to-ceiling windows.
